The BSJU is a member of the World Shuai Jiao Federation (WSJF) and a founder the European Shuai Jiao Union (ESJU). The BSJU was established in 2005. Since it's inception the BSJU had operated in partnership with the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA); although, changes in the governance arrangements, at World and European level, require the BSJU to operate as a separate governing body for Shuai Jiao, in the United Kingdom.
